Festival Win! Hollywood Blood Horror Festival: Do No Harm wins four categories

Crunchy Tomatoes is incredibly happy to announce our film ‘Do No Harm’ as winner of four separate categories at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, Los Angeles! Our winning categories are:

BEST DRAMA TO CRUNCHY TOMATOES

The creators of ‘Do No Harm’ discuss its importance to them following its win as Best Drama in the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival:

Javed Malik – Writer

“I’m really excited about the attention Do No Harm is getting and am really proud of our amazing team! I also think this is a great opportunity to start a discussion about the mental health and well-being of our junior doctors, which was always one of the aims of the film.”

Sam Blakeney-Edwards – Director

“Winning best drama is an award shared by the entire team. Do No Harm continues to succeed and make us proud of the work everyone put in. The film is an indictment of the pressures we put on our medical staff and the often thankless work they do day in day out. I’m just relieved that in our industry we are able to acknowledge people’s hard work.”

Louis Taylor-Baggs – Producer

“Making Do No Harm and the success it’s having is a huge testament to the creative team surrounding it. It is a privilege for us as creatives and as a production company to be able to make films about topics we believe are incredibly important and deserving of discussion. Do No Harm is a medical drama that aims to show the reality of life as a junior doctor and how much pressure they are under today. We look forward to continuing our mission of making these important films and releasing them in the near future.”

Best Producer to Louis Taylor-Baggs

Read what our producer Louis Taylor-Baggs has to say about his ‘Best Producer’ win: “I am hugely honoured and humbled to be awarded Best Producer at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival. Do No Harm was an incredibly challenging but rewarding film to make for all the crew and I am incredibly proud to say that I was a part of it. I couldn’t have completed the film without the hard work of our incredibly talented Director, Sam Blakeney-Edwards and the great script written by Javed Malik. I look forward to working with the entire creative team again on our future Crunchy Tomatoes projects, some of which we are already developing.”

Best Editing to Sean Siegfried/Sam Blakeney-Edwards

Co-editor Sean Siegfried talks about working on ‘Do No Harm’ following the win in Best Editing: “I am very proud to receive this award. Sam Blakeney-Edwards and I worked collaboratively during the edit for 'Do No Harm' and it was an exciting opportunity to work with compelling performances, consummate cinematography/production design and auteristic direction. Crucially, at the centre of all of this, lay a profound story capable of affecting people. When you have these elements at your fingertips as an editor, you become inspired by the possibilities sitting in front of you, waiting to leap out of the rushes.”

Best Sound Design to Yanti Windrich, Fred Pearson and Max Clarke

Read what our amazing sound team says about working the film:

Yanti Windrich - Sound Designer & Mixer

“I am super excited that we’ve won this award. Do No Harm was a delight to mix, everyone involved put so much effort into making it look and sound the best it could be. We could really go for it in the mix and create an increasingly intense and claustrophobic soundtrack as the film progressed. I feel very proud to have been part of it and I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved in getting us here.”

Fred Pearson - Sound Designer & Effects Editor

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have won Best Sound at Hollywood Blood Horror Festival along with the rest of the team Yanti (Dubbing Mixer) and Max (Foley). ‘Do No Harm’ was an absolute dream to work on as the edit really leant itself to interesting sound design. It allowed us to push the audio to help tell the story and make it sonically interesting. I’m super pleased with how it turned out and looking forward to seeing it’s progress in the festival circuit.”

Max Clarke - Dialogue & Foley Editor

“It’s cool to be recognised for the hard work put into the project, and it definitely made the process easier by having a talented crew across all the different departments. Everyone deserves credit, it’s a great film through and through.”

David Erwood - Sound Recordist

“Do No Harm was a hard shoot with a fantastic crew and I'm really proud of the film that came out of it. Winning an award for best sound is a great honour and I'd like to thank the Director Sam and the Producer Louis, and the rest of the sound team for helping make this happen.”
