OUT NOW - 5 Music Videos for Edie Bens' EP 'Playing Pretend'

Edie Bens has released her 1st EP entitled ‘Playing Pretend’ and along side it she has dropped 1 music video per track (5 tracks = 5 music videos). These videos have been made by us here at Crunchy Tomatoes and we are incredibly proud to have been asked to help turn Edie’s songs into a reality and to introduce the world to the huge talent of Edie Bens.

This was a fantastic project that Crunchy Tomatoes were excited to be a part of, especially the prospect of working with Glassnote Records that have artists including Aurora, Chvrches, Jade Bird, Mumford & Sons and of course Edie Bens herself.

There are 5 videos in the collection to accompany the 5 tracks on the EP. The main aim was to authentically introduce Edie Bens and grow the videos across the course of the EP. We of course chose to shoot in her home town of Swansea, Wales. We started with ‘Had You Never Gone Away’ which was set in a beautiful house on the coast where Edie had spent her childhood playing at the weekends. The video is a series of shots first pulling out from an extreme close up on Edie’s face and then by the middle of the video starting to slowly push back in towards Edie’s face to create a circular narrative, introduce Edie and also convey the raw emotion being presented in the song itself.

By the final video ‘Don’t Love You Anymore’ we had decided to shoot a party sequence with a cake celebrating moving on from your ex. These videos were a huge challenge but a great adventure and we hope that you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed making them.

P.s one of the videos features a beautiful Porsche that we were lucky enough to spend a day driving around the Welsh countryside. Keep an eye out for that one.
